Why Shaitsu?
- A 5000 year- old method of Ancient Chinese Medicine
- AKA "Finger Pressure" Accupressure
- Uses Fingers, Palms, Elbows, Forearms, Knees, Feet, Whole body
- Yin/Yang Principles: YIN- cold, dark, soft, solid, revered. YANG- Hot, light, hallow, expendable.
- 12 Energy Meridians located on face, head, arms, legs and torso (mirrored on both sides)
- 5 Elements - FIRE, EARTH, METAL, WATER, WOOD
- CHI/QUI/KI= Life Force Energy
- Relaxing drains overactive energy and/or activates (tonifies) low energy
- Full body stretches opens the flow of vital energy.
- Organs associated with each element: FIRE= HEART/PERICARDIUM/SMALL INTESTINE/TRIPLE HEATER, EARTH= STOMACH/SPLEEN, METAL= LUNG/LARGE INTESTINE, WATER= BLADDER/KIDNEY, WOOD= LIVER/GALL BLADDER
- Each Element can nurture or control one another.

- Tools of Assessment: Hara (soft belly area), Eyes, Voice, Smell, Written Intake.
- All senses are used to evaluate and assess.
- Sessions are typically 60-75 minutes.
- Treatments can be weekly or monthly for life or as issues arise.
- Treatments are traditionally done on a floor mat with the client fully clothed in a comfortable outfit, on a message table (clothed) or a seated position.

- The only contraindications are specific points on meridians during pregnancy.
